Day Eight is (belatedly) here. Our sincere apologies for the tardiness to our European and East Coast listeners - your scribe got caught up in riding several hours in pouring rain and lost his senses. Or, perhaps, his will to brave another "arduous" task of the day. In any case, willed on by the courage of a three-finger glass of whisky, we're back!
Today's steed is one that, like yesterday, we've shown to the world before. It still strikes a chord within our hearts. It's the Above Category special Pegoretti Marcelo. Dario Pegoretti and Above Category tend to be synonymous in the correct context, and eventually, it wasn't without trepidation that a one-off AC paint scheme was commissioned. This bike is ours, forever and always, even if it's now living gleefully near Oakland, California, adopted by an equally passionate master. One of the most modern of Dario's paint schemes, it was originally imagined to be a series of bikes - and a series of one of our favorite Pegs, the Marcelo, his purebred steel road race frameset. Dario being Dario, to date we've received one frame, and we don't think more are coming. It's something that makes it all the more special.
We'll abscond with the build details, because a Peg is always so much more than that. Enjoy.
