For this week’s Bike of the Week, we bring you a Pegoretti double-header. Heading for the Sunshine State (Florida), we have a Pegoretti Responsorium for Carlos and a Pegoretti Marcelo for his nephew, Danny. They both ordered these bikes about eight months ago and their patience rewarded them with these two Pegoretti’s in Ciavete. Keep reading to see how they turned out.

First up, we have the Danny’s Marcelo. When he first ordered the bike all he asked for was it to have a white base. This is good, as all Dario allows for when choosing a Ciavete paint scheme is base color selection. It’s been a while since we’ve had a bike with green in it and every time we see one we wonder why, as they look great and original. In fact, we think that this would be an ideal paint scheme for Peter Sagan when he wins another green jersey in next year’s Tour.

Dario only has his name on this frame in two discreet places, yet you can tell his bikes apart from all others in a millisecond at a great distance. Branding companies take note, it does not take hundreds of logos to get your name across.

Here’s that other spot…

King titanium cages, a full Campagnolo Super Record group, Speedplay Zero pedals, Campagnolo Bora One 35mm wheels, Chris King headset, Vittoria Open Corse SC (we’ll miss these) and a Fizik Bull 00 bolted to a Fizik stem and topped off with Fizik Super Light tape round out the build.

Almost forgot! He’ll be sitting on a Fizik Antares R3 saddle that is held up by a Thomson Masterpiece post.

From the other side, the complete bike looks as good as the drive side.

Next up we have Carlos’ bike. This one has the identical build save for the pedals and saddle. In this case he’s using a Fizik Aliante VSX saddle and Look pedals. Same result, hot bike.

Not only are the parts mostly the same but both are running 170mm Campagnolo Super Record cranks with 52X36 rings, 12X27 Super Record cassettes and 400mm wide Fizik Bull bars.

Favorite? White, green and red or white, blue, yellow and red?

Thanks to both of you, we had a blast talking and thinking about the bikes and then building them up for you, but not as much of a blast as you’ll have riding them!
