Extensive travel is painful in its own right. Traveling with a bike in a bag? Possibly excruciating. Lugging an enormous bag or case around busy, hectic airports at all hours is bad enough, but then we’re required to pay for the right to such an enjoyable experience! And sometimes, because of the size, the bike doesn’t actually arrive at our destination along with us. All this without even mentioning the possibly-laborious process of building/breaking down the bike for it to make it into the bike bag in the first place.
Enter Mosaic's TT-1, the Coloradan answer to exorbitant airline bike fees. Able to come apart at the industrial-looking S&S couplers, the TT-1 packs neatly into a hard case that slides in under most airlines oversized baggage measurements. No more fibbing to check-in clerks that your bike case emblazoned with cycling logos contains a wheelchair. Or tradeshow equipment. Or a massage table. Just slide it on through, as if it were a regular suitcase.
Essentially an RT-2 cut in half, the TT-1 exemplifies a classic, durable titanium road bike, perfect for travel and the unexpected with custom geometry for each Mosaic owner. While it's possible to build with any drivetrain configuration, we're partial to using SRAM's wireless Red eTap groupset, as the lack of shift cables or wiring makes the bike much easier to break down and reassemble for travel. As with all Mosaic titanium bicycles, a myriad of raw Ti finish options are available, as well as paint configurations for a small upcharge. Every Mosaic bicycle that leaves Above Category is custom-built for the individual, with geometry based on your answers to our questions about your riding style, current bike setup, riding/racing aspirations, and biomechanical fit dimensions.
