When the temperatures start grazing triple digits, there's no denying the allure of an ice cold, tropical elixir. With the summer solstice upon us and the mercury rising, it's only fitting that our latest build brings the heat. Continue on as we profile this strawberry rum punch road bike.
The core of the build is the Orbis frameset, Baum's flagship disc road platform. Few things compare to the performance and ride feel of a modern titanium bike, and this is no exception. What's even more exceptional is the wild magenta to orange fade paint job. It's loud, refreshing, and bursting with tropical vibes. You won't miss this one rolling down the road.
The cockpit is a full Enve suite. Their compact handlebar is mounted to the custom painted carbon stem, while the saddle is mounted to a zero offset post—also painted to match.
The details continue to the saddle and bar tape. A masterfully crafted kangaroo leather lamination covers the contact points. A perforated black top layer reveal perfectly matched orange and magenta. All thanks to the handiwork of Mick Peel at Busyman.
A Sram Red AXS group holds down the transmission. The flat top chain shifts across the twelve cogs, from 10 teeth up to 28, and between the 50 and 34 tooth rings. The cranks spin on a White Industries T47 bottom bracket and a 160/140 rotor combo slows the bike down.
Our rider prefers to ride alloy rims and the HED Belgium continues to reign as our top choice in that category. The 25mm wide Plus version is perfect for an all around road bike, especially with a set of 28c tubeless Vittoria Corsa mounted up. The hubs are DT Swiss straight pull 240s, which were also custom painted by Baum to match the bike. The anodized Orange Seals valve nuts are the icing on the cake.
That concludes this mouthwatering build. The perfect steed for long summer days, and to keep that fire alive, deep into the winter. If you've had the itch for a dream ti bike of your own, just drop us a line, and we'd be thrilled to make it a reality. Thanks for reading!
