Bike of the Week: A Lime and Pink Mosaic GT-1

Derek Yarra |

With our OSBR: Dirt East Peak TT just a week away, it was perfect timing that we showcase our latest gravel build, a hand crafted Mosaic GT-1. With a dialed build and a playful color palette, this bike is ready to party. Continue on to check out all the details of this stunning titanium machine.

The GT-1

The core of the build is the the Mosaic GT-1 frameset, specifically the "45' version of the Boulder, CO based builder's flagship titanium gravel rig. After spending some time on our Campagnolo Ekar test bike, this rider was smitten and soon after put in an order for a bike of his own. Asside from the matte pearl lime green finish, the specs are nearly identical. Clearance for 700x45c tires, dialed geometry, and even provisions for mechanical shift cabling should he decide to switch to Ekar down the line.

The Cockpit

Front the back, the cockpit is all Enve. The front end sports an Aero stem paired with the new AR handlebar. They're wrapped with Enve's own bar tape (a particularly comfy and grippy option of off road excursions) and utilizes an integrated K-Edge computer mount for a clean set up. The back side of the bike sees a zero-offset Enve seatpost with a Most Lynx saddle mounted up top.

The Drivetrain

While the frame is built for mechanical shifting, there's currently isn't a way to mount a Campagnolo cassette to his preferred Chris King hubs. So until that can be a reality, this bike is built on a Sram AXS system with the Red/XX1 mullet pairing. A 44t ring is mounted to the Quarq power meter, and pulls the chain from the wide range 10-52t cassette. The brakes clamp down on 160mm rotors, but in a unique touch, he's using Shimano Dura-Ace discs.

The Wheels

Deep and mean is a common theme for this rider's wheel choice. For this dirt roving machine, a custom built set of Enve 4.5 AR rims are laced to matte punch Chris King R45 hubs. The pink is a stellar combination to the frame's green finish, if we do say so ourselves. For tires he went a little funky, because why not? The 43c Sim Works "The Homage" tires and their green rubber compound harken back to the famed Michelin, arguably the most coveted dirt tire ever made.

The Final Details

Rounding out the build are a fine selection of appointments. The matte punch King headset spacers and top cap balance out the color hits of the frame. A pairing of a coated Ceramicspeed bottom bracket and coated pulley wheels keep the drive train spinning smooth. Blips have been a favorable accessory to many AXS builds, but this bike takes it a step further. On either side of the handlebar, there are not one, but two blip modules. This way, you can shift in either with just one hand while resting on the tops of the bars. Truly a nice touch.

Despite it being a fresh build, you can see  there was no time wasted getting it on the dirt. It's got the mud splatter and scratches to prove it, and that smile is a clear stamp of approval.
