Bike of the Week: An Orange and White Striped Pinarello Dogma K10

Derek Yarra |

While the tour is rounding out its final week and eyes are the new Dogma F, we're mixing things up and with an equally hot Pinarello platform with a bit more of classics flavor—check out our latest Pinarello K10s. With sporty orange and white striped paint and a fully dialed build, this Dogma is ready to hit the road and soak up the summer time heat.

The Soft-tail Speedster

They say aero is everything, but compliance and smoothness are what help keep those valuable watts you put into the pedals translating into forward  motion. Pinarello have been long believers in this, and have been dabbling in road bikes with suspension for years. Their latest take is the K10s. Stiff, responsive, and aero just like F12 (and now F) but with thoroughly engineered chainstays and an electronically activated rear damper to help absorb the bumps and vibrations of the road. These bikes are super fast, but provide incredible comfort and traction, so you can keep riding harder, longer. We got this one in a stunning white and orange paint and it just looks fast!

The Cockpit

The cockpit is a split of Enve and Pinarello's own Most components. The a Most stem retains the integrated aerodynamic shape of the Dogma while and Enve road bar and tape handle the steering and control. Out back, a carbon railed Most saddle is mounted to the proprietary seat post.

The Drivetrain

The shifting and braking is all handled by a Dura-Ace Di2 kit. The gearing is made up of an 11-30t cassette and 50/34t rings. Those rings however, are mounted to an SRM Origin carbon power meter crank. The DA calipers clamp down on a 160 rotor up front and a 140 in the rear.

The Wheels

With such a compliant frame, we figured we could go for some extra stiffness at the wheels. A set of Lightweight Meilenstein Evos made an excellent choice. Obviously they're light, but they've got an incredible responsiveness and do an incredible job of tracking in corners. Being the Schwarcz edition, they come rolling on CeramicSpeed bearings. The wheels are paired up with our longtime favorite Vittoria Corsa Control tires. 30c wide and set up tubeless for a silky smooth ride.

The Extras

Of course, the bike is finished off with a number of fine touches. Bearings throughout the build have been upgraded with coated CeramicSpeed offerings. The rear Dura-Ace derailleur has been upgraded with an OSPW system while the cranks spin on an Italian threaded bottom bracket. We dropped an EE headset expansion plug for a bit of weight savings and paired them up with a set of their bar plugs. A set of Time XPRO 15 pedals finish it all off.

For high speed, big mileage, and roads of any and all conditions, this Pinarello Dogma K10s is a tough steed to beat. While the race day F-series Dogmas tend to steal the spotlight, these K10 really just sing on the road! Interested in a build like this of your own? Drop us a line and we'll be glad to sort you out.
