There are somethings that draw your attention with exotic styling and flare. Others draw you in with pure simplistic beauty. Perfectly balanced with style and performance, and free of excess—just a clear focus on the essentials that make a bike truly great. We feel that our latest titanium all road build exemplifies this to the T. Follow along as we dig into the details of this Knockout Red Mosaic GT-1. The GT-1 The GT-1 in the all road variant is a wonderfully versatile machine. The team at Mosaic have found the perfect recipe for retaining the razor sharp handling of a road bike while making room for up to a 38c tire. Being built from premium custom butted titanium makes it all the sweeter. It's smooth, light, fast, and damn near indestructible. Earlier this year, Mosaic introduced their Knockout paint scheme and hot damn does it look good here. pearl racing red with the bare titanium is an undeniably classy combination. The Cockpit For the cockpit, we went with a full suite of Zipp Service Course SL pieces. These are among our favorite alloy options with their clean looks and proven comfort. For saddle, we mounted a Fizik Antares R1 to the zero-offset post while the 42c bars are wrapped in black Enve tape. The Drivetrain Class and sensibility were a theme for this build, so it's hard to imagine a better kit than mechanical Campagnolo Record. 50/34t rings paired with an 11-34t cassette provide the perfect range for big road excursions that include getting lost in the dirt. Campagnolo brakes with 160mm rotor feel simply amazing and provide incredible levels of control. The Wheels Completing the Campagnolo package is a set of Shamal Ultra wheels. The understated matte black finish perfectly suits the clean look of the bike, but looks aren't everything. With their USB bearings and G3 spoke pattern, these wheels really have a magic ride quality to them. Wrapping them up are a set of René Herse 35c Bon Jon Pass slick tires. Beautifully supple with the perfect speed to grip ratio for all road riding. Final Touches No custom build is complete with out the finishing details. A black Chris King headset, Ceramicspeed bottom bracket and pulley wheels, and of course classic Ti King Cages round it all out. While we're all for the flashy and over the top builds, we'll always have a love for the bikes that make you stop and think, "damn, that's clean." Mechanical Campagnolo, bespoke titanium, and tan wall tires, this build is as classy as they come. If we were forced to narrow our stable down to just one bike, for many of us here at AC, it would look something like this.
